Happy Thanksgiving week.

It’s one of my favorite times of the year. I love it because this is a time of year that calls for reflection. Reflection on all the good things in my life for which I am grateful.

I want you to know that you’re on my gratitude list. Thank you for letting me into your life. And most importantly, thank you for bringing your knowledge, passion, and love for teaching and learning to the classroom and to clinical. Students deserve nothing less, right?

Did you know that having a spirit of gratitude is beneficial to your
body, mind, and spirit?  Especially when it becomes a part of your daily practice.

What’s not to love about that? It’s free. It’s simple. And it doesn’t take much time.

So in this spirit of gratitude, I’m trying something new this year.

Together, let’s make a list of the things for which we are thankful.

Simply click on my Facebook link below and upload a photo and post a comment about something for which you are grateful in the comments under my KICKSTART Your Monday Morning MOJO: Gratitude video.

OR if you are not part of the Facebook community,

no worries, click on this link to my video KICKSTART Your Monday Morning MOJO and comment beneath the video.  Either way your name will be placed in a lottery for a $25 gift card to Amazon. One of my sons will draw a name at noon on Thursday.

So go right over and upload your photo and comment. If you don’t know how to upload a photo, feel free to post a comment without a photo.

I am stoked to share this with you. I follow Seth Godin’s blog. His blog today included an invitation to download ‘The Thanksgiving Reader’, a beautifully written pdf about gratitude and hope. It is filled with traditional stories, poems, and quotes. He encourages everyone to pass it along to others. So I am passing it along to you.

This is Seth’s fantastic idea:

“The idea is simple: At your Thanksgiving celebration (and yes, it’s okay to use it outside the US), consider going around the table and having each person read a section aloud.

Before the meal starts, all you need to do is put one page on each person’s chair and follow the simple steps.

During the ten or fifteen minutes your family spends reading together, millions of people will all be reading the same words, thinking about the same issues, connecting with each other over the essence of what we celebrate.

After all the travel and the cooking and the hassle, for these few minutes, perhaps we can all breathe the same air and think hard about what we’re thankful for.”

When I printed mine,

there were 44,404 people who had downloaded the PDF before me. Imagine the momentum of good in the world with this simple act.

Pretty powerful, huh?
