Student Engagement Imagine you’re in a classroom filled with students. As you look around the room you see that students are texting, Internet browsing or otherwise disengaged. You’re frustrated, as are your students. Learning is compromised and you can bet your faculty evaluations are as well. I teach faculty how to connect with students, to engage students as learners. I work with faculty who want to improve their teaching and have fun while doing it. Email me at Kelly@drbpresents.com for a free 30 minute consultation meeting and we can discuss how I will support you in increasing the engagement in your classroom. I would love to help you.
Knowledge Gaps Attend any function where faculty are discussing student learning and you will hear a discussion about ‘gaps’. The gap talk is everywhere, right? In nursing we talk about gaps between the classroom and clinical settings. Other faculty I work with talk about gaps in student knowledge and gaps in communication. You know the importance of bridging those gaps. But it can be daunting. I would love to work with you to create active teaching strategies, simulation experiences, and classroom techniques that will assist in bridging those gaps. Email me at Kelly@drbpresents.com for a free 30 minute consultation meeting and we can discuss how I will support you as you move toward teaching excellence.
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning You spend countless hours preparing for class. Is it worth it? Are students learning what you intend for them to learn? Engaging in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) will give you those answers. I teach faculty the art and science of engaging in SoTL projects. Researching to determine best teaching strategies is a rewarding experience. Let me teach you how. Email me at Kelly@drbpresents.com for a free 30 minute consultation meeting and we can discuss how I will support you or even a team of faculty in creating SoTL projects.
